After Frobisher withdrew the offer of settlement, the disappointed and disgruntled clients of Patty fired her and hired Tom to replace her, as their legal representative in this episode of the season. The support of his new clients helped Tom to bargain for his position as a partner, with Patty. On the other hand, Katie made the revelation regarding her being in touch with Gregory Malina even after she first met him in Florida. Meanwhile, David and Ellen have a disagreement over the way Katie was treated which results in David leaving to spend a few days with his sister.
In the alternate timeline, Ellen was seen asserting that she was assaulted with the intention of killing, by somebody while she was in the apartment of Patty.
