It was the birthday of Ellen in this episode of the season. She got Statue of Liberty bookends as a gift from Katie. Katie was persuaded by Ellen to be a witness against Arthur Frobisher, which leads Arthur to think about taking some drastic steps. On the other hand, hoping to get Katie to serve as a witness against Frobisher, Patty asked her clients to decline the offer of settlement for the time-being. Later, Katie was asked by Patty to give the complete and precise detail of the time she had spent in Florida. Meanwhile, Katie was terrorized by Frobisher’s men and goes ahead with signing a confidentiality agreement with him. Later, we saw Katie confessing to Patty that she had lied to her earlier and that in reality she had had a one night stay with Gregory Malina in Florida. Ellen was offered a new apartment house by Patty.
The alternate timeline showed police colleting the clues of the murder case, one of the bookends, which Ellen is shown to be handling and had been used as the murder weapon.
