Damages Episodes : Burn It, Shred It, I Don’t Care

In the Season 2 Episode 2, Patty takes up Daniel’s case after he is attacked at home and his wife gets killed. Daniel tells Patty that his firm suppressed the negative results of a toxicity study of a chemical compound that had been conducted by him. Patty also decides to take up an infant mortality case but later passes it on to Tom Shayes. She soon asks him also to reject the case and help her on Daniel’s case. Sam Arsenault, feeling that his chances of a political career have been ruined, after his daughter was arrested with cocaine, asks Patty if he can still invest in the foundation, and she uses the opportunity to manipulate him into increasing his donation amount. Ellen informs Wes about her visit to Arthur and he warns her of staying away from the man. Later, it turns out that Wes is following the Frobisher case, including David’s murder, very closely. Patty knowingly causes an information leak from her office and discovers that the toxic compound is created by Ultima National Resources.

In an alternate timeline, Ellen is having a liaison with Wes after which she goes to meet Tom and receives a handgun from him.
