Hey people! Last Friday’s Oprah Winfrey Show was really special for the fans of the crime drama series Damages. If some of you do not know why, let me tell you that it was on this day that our favorite Glenn Close, was seen as a guest on this very famous talk show. So here was the shrewd lawyer from Damages having a tête-à-tête with the Oprah Winfrey, undoubtedly the most famous talk show host across the globe.
So what did the 62 year old actress from Damages, talk about with Oprah? Well, the talk focused mostly on Puppies Behind Bars, which is an organization that is involved in getting dogs trained by prison inmates, to become service dogs for wounded soldiers. Glenn revealed on the show that the organization is very close to her heart as it helps not only the animals but also tries to help and reform criminals.
The actress has also become the spokesperson for Puppies Behind Bars. To emphasize, how influenced she has been by the organization’s initiative to try and transform criminal offenders, Glenn also paid a visit to an upstate New York prison, to shoot a short film showing an inmate training a canine to be a service dog. Glenn has also vowed to give her full support to the program which creates a link between violent criminals and service dogs.
We have seen a totally different Glenn as she plays the role of a ruthless lawyer Patty Hewes, who does not think twice before back-stabbing anyone for personal or professional gains. The character she has played makes her come across as a person who should be hated for what she does. And many people have actually hated her on Damages, which has just completed airing its Season 2.
I feel that it is her extraordinary talent, which is on display as we see her perform the role of Patty so convincingly. Through her talent she has made the audiences believe in the existence of Patty and it is that character that people have come to hate. According to me, it is more challenging to portray someone whom people might come to hate and Glenn has accepted this challenge by playing the role of Patty on Damages!
