Byrne, though she has no real connections with the acting world. She had keen interest in acting and was taking acting classes since the age of eight. After completing her formal education, from the University of Sydney, she attended Atlantic Theatre Company, where she studied acting.

She started her acting career when she was twelve, with a role in the movie “Dallas Doll”. Basically she started her acting career with Australian movies and television. She was Australia’s favorite too. But she entered Hollywood in 2002, with a small role in Star Wars: episode two. She has played the role of Briseis in the movie Troy. Her most recent appearances in movies include her roles in movies like “Sunshine”, “Weeks later” and “28 Days Later”. She will be soon seen in her independent movie “Just Buried”.

Currently she is working she is working in “Damages”, playing the lead role of Ellen Parsons. In “Damages”, she plays a young, sharp, bright law school graduate, who has just entered the real world.

Besides her career in acting, she has also supported UNICEF and many other organizations. In 2007, she was named in Most Beautiful Women in Who Magazine. Currently she is going around with Brendan Cowell and has maintained long distance relationship with him.
