Glenn was born in one of the most prominent families of Greenwich. Glenn attended Choate Rosemary Hall, one of the privileged boarding schools in Connecticut and later went to College of William and Mary.

Glenn has had a lengthy and fruitful career. She started her career with movies, later moved on to television in 1990. With movies, she had worked in some of the best movies of her times, including “Dangerous Liaisons” and “Fatal Attraction” which fished her Best Actress for Academy Awards. In 1996, she also worked in the Blockbuster “101 Dalmatians” and its sequel in 2000. When she turned to television, she had again had some great roles in her hand. Besides her other roles on television, most recently she has appeared on “The Shield”, a crime series. Currently she appears in “Damages” a series of her own, which has been a complete success. In damages she portrays the character of a hard hitting, successful, litigator, who is having problems with her family. Besides acting and television she has also been performing on stage, where again she was appreciated for her acting and was awarded many a times.

Currently married to her long time boyfriend, David Shaw, with whom she resides in Scarborough, Maine. She also has a daughter, Annie Maude Strake, from her previous marriage, with John Starke.
